This is an engine which uses the jet propulsion system, with the specific feature that it uses a propeller to maximise the aeroplane's thrust. As the air intake must be located at the front, the propeller is usually placed at the rear with the jet and so becomes a propulsion unit. The air intake is placed differently from one aeroplane to another (flap, axisymmetric or axial).
