As part of Airbus and to accelerate the development of a Zero Emissions Aviation, the job holder will be accountable for
Contributing to aircraft design and H2 systems using engineering tools such as Computational Fluid Dynamics,
Modelling the thermal threat of H2 fires to help the teams in charge of the aircraft structures sizing,
Running multiphasic simulations of the cryogenic features (internal & external). This could include effects such as vaporization, condensation or ice accretion.
The role may include the supervision of a PhD student.
The jobholder will be a key contributor to the generation of the future Airbus safety design process for cryogenic products in the Airframe organisation.
The job requires interactions with a large community of stakeholders: Airbus engineering community and thermal engineers, Airbus subcontractors, external industrial and academic partners.
Your Main Responsibilities
The main tasks and responsibilities will include:
Interfacing with various key actors from Airbus Research &Technology (R&T) center dedicated to Zero Emission,
Steering and synchronizing external partners according to ZEROe project plan,
Defining the technical activities together with the project team and building the activity plan (deliverables definition, scheduling, cost),
Defining the engineering steps for the requested studies, developing the numerical models (more or less complex depending on the need)
Collecting the various input data in relation with project customers and other contributors.
Steering or performing the analyses, validating the outputs, delivering to the project,
Collaborating with the other contributors to Set up an efficient multidisciplinary process,
For test campaigns inside or outside Airbus premises: specifying the test instrumentation, the test protocols, participating to the test as part of the test team.
Who We Are Looking For
Because ZEROe is preparing the future of aviation, we look for a highly skilled and passionate colleague, able to bring his energy and expertise into the Airbus Engineering universe.
Required Educational Background and Experience:
Engineering degree or equivalent, PhD, in the field of reactive and non-reactive fluid simulations,
Knowledge of Fluid mechanics, multi-phase flows and combustion
Previous experience with reactive CFD (Fluent, Star-CCM+, AVBP, ...),
Knowledge of some typical meshing tools used in the industry (ICEM, GAMBIT, ...),
Knowledge of test engineering techniques and work in an experimental environment,
Experience in aerospace and/or in cryogenics technologies,
Other competencies that would be a great asset:
Experience in a Research & Technology (R&T) context would be a plus,
Project management experience would be a plus,
Abilities to code in Python would be a plus,
Knowledge of Siemens modelling and simulation solutions (NX/TMG, AMESIM) would be a plus.
A curious and pro-active person with a great sense of initiative, flexibility, integrity, able to manage confidential topics,
Strong team spirit, easy contact, good networking, interpersonal and communication skills,
Ability to work in both Agile & Project modes,
Languages: Negotiation level of English is a must and a negotiation level of French is a plus.
