As a member of the ZEROe project, you will join a team of highly motivated and valuable people who are involved in aircraft concept exploration, technologies development, next generation industrial system and future hydrogen ecosystem preparation that will shape the development of our zero-emission aviation.

As part of Airbus and to accelerate the development of a Zero Emissions Aviation, the job holder will be accountable for conducting new propulsion system preliminary design, thermodynamic cycle evaluation, as well as assessing new propulsion system concepts with respect to their performance potential.
Within the Engine Performance domain, you will manage varied engine performance technical activities for future engines installation studies, mainly in preliminary design, performance evaluation, modelling and optimization capabilities from early phases up to program launch. They are conducted in direct cooperation with the Airbus CTO organization, Engine & Nacelle manufacturers and other Airbus Design Office disciplines (including Future Projects, Powerplant integration, Aircraft Performance, Aerodynamics and Acoustics).
Your Main Responsibilities
New propulsion systems preliminary design
Thermodynamic cycle evaluation
To contribute to the Powerplant system performance optimization and to aircraft optimization studies involving propulsion performance
To perform critical evaluation of Engine Manufacturer's proposals
Actively participate in the definition of the specification requirements for new engine installations
Develop engine performance models
Contribute to continuous improvements of engine performance modelling and engine performance evaluation methods & tools
Support ZEROe plateau activities for co-design & demonstrator preparation
Who We Are Looking For
Required Educational Background and Experience:
Educated to an Engineer's degree (or equivalent) in Aeronautics Propulsion or related discipline;
Knowledge of turbomachinery modelling / preliminary design tools (PROOSIS or similar);
A first experience in engine thermodynamics / energetics or preliminary design;
Knowledge on turbomachinery components design and limitations;
Knowledge on other energy source and associated systems than kerozen (Hydrogen mainly) will be a plus;
Experience in a Research & Technology (R&T) context would be a plus;
Strong relationship building, networking, interpersonal and communication skills;
High degree of initiative, rigor, credibility, independence, integrity, confidentiality and trust;
Languages : advanced level of English and French;
