Description of the job :
A vacancy for an A400M Material Support Manager (m/f) has arisen within Airbus Defence & Space in Clermont-Ferrand. As the successful candidate you will join the Airbus Support Centre (TASWF) department.

---WARNING--- : this position is based in Clermont-Ferrand and as such you must be available to work full time on this site.

French Air Force (FAF) has contracted Airbus Defence & Space (DS) to deliver In-Service Support to their A400M fleet based in Orléans. This includes a nose-to-tail spares service, relying on a multinational network of warehouses on each A400M main operating base (MOB) and a central stock in Airbus DS facilities in Seville.

As part of this spares service, in order to directly support the A400M C-checks performed in Clermont-Ferrand by the FAF Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) SIAé, Airbus DS is setting a dedicated logistic team and warehouse inside the facilities of SIAé. This team is part of the Airbus DS MRO Support Team in Clermont-Ferrand (about 8 persons permanently) which also provides SIAé with Airbus DS technical engineering plus technical office support, and occasional working parties.

Your main accountability will be :
• Ensure that the contractual performance commitments for material support are delivered to SIAé
• Support the operational performance of the A400M spares pool, to achieve the above requirements and enablers like : on-time inbound and outbound, stock and other KPIs monitoring

You will report hierarchically to the local Airbus DS Material Support Manager in Orléans and operationally to the Airbus DS MRO Support Manager in Clermont-Ferrand.

This position will require a security clearance or will require being eligible for clearance by the recognized authorities.

Task & accountabilities :
Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:

• Support the Material Support Services Manager in ensuring that the performance delivery to SIAé complies with In Service Support (ISS) contractual commitments, and especially:
o First of all, deliver spares on time to SIAé.
o Identify and solve all MRO material support issues with the MS Manager in Orléans and the Material Support Center of Competences (COC) in Seville (TASM)
o Ensure that all requests to/by SIAé are properly addressed internally, backed commercially, and reflect the real needs in terms of lead-time, criticality and quantity
o Support the MRO Support Manager during the daily assessment meetings with SIAé, acting as Material Support focal point
o Work closely with the Material Support Manager in Orléans and TASM to establish priorities and objectives for French Ministry of Defence (MOD) and internally
o Ensure that all requests to/by A400M spares pool are properly addressed,
o Ensure compliance of Material Support Services with Quality, Procurement, Export Control and Customs rules and regulations
o Support contract reviews and performance assessment
• Trigger all stakeholders to achieve and improve the performance of the A400M support contract :
o Implement and refine processes between Clermont, Orléans, Seville and other Main Operating Bases (MOBs)
o Monitor and comply with KPIs (operational and contractual ones) as a flow-down from contract commitments and business objectives.
o Issue periodic trend-monitoring analysis for internal and external purpose
o Propose, and support deployment of, improvement plans (internal or on SIAé side)
• Monitor the performance of the subcontracted warehouse manager in Clermont-Ferrand
• Place Purchase Orders for services which procurement is delegated (mainly A400M specific consumables)
• Deploy the material support part of NFF (Aircraft Support and Services) policy, with SIAé and with central organization

Required profile


Required skills :
You will have the following skills and experience:

• Educated to an Engineering Degree level or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of experience at operational or middle-management level in a Material Support organization.
• Overall understanding of all Material Support related issues.
• Previous experience in providing spares availability services.
• Good managerial skills, strong personal drive, with ability to sustain operational challenges.
• Understanding of customers' needs.
• Ability to support company's position during meetings in front of customers.
• Openness, dedication and team spirit. Good personal presentation.
• Negotiation level of English and French, Spanish would be an asset.
