Job Description:-

The Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP)/Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) Subject Matter Expert is expected to train, consult, & lead organizations through the APQP/PPAP process. The APQP/PPAP SME is to understand, assess, and advice steps and potential strategies that organizations would need to put in place in order to implement APQP/PPAP within their organizations for internal/external operational systems for new development programs, across their supply chain, and legacy systems.

Some Knowledge of Aerospace would be beneficial but not essential

The ideal candidate must have:-

Direct experience leading APQP project teams

  • Direct experience leading/facilitation APQP tools including DRA tools such as DFMEAs (Including the use of prerequisite tools), PFDs, PFMEAs, Control Plans, MSA Studies, SPC (including Initial Capability Studies, and implementing ongoing Statistical Process Controls)
  • Have a solid understanding of how the Contract Review Process relates to an effective PPAP
  • Have an understanding of how each PPAP deliverable relates to organizational improvement(s)
  • Must be familiar with APQP Standards such as IATF16949, AS9145, AS13003, AS13004, AS13006
  • Must be a strong leader
  • Must be an effective trainer
  • Be able to understand organizational systems required for effective (and ongoing) APQP implementation & operation
  • Must be able to coach organizations on how to development, implement, & manage APQP
  • Have experience developing, completing, approving, & managing program specific APQP Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) documents

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor\'s degree in Engineering or other technical field
  • Min 10 years relevant experience
  • Six Sigma Green or Black Belt or experience solving problems using Six Sigma Techniques
  • Proven Problem Solving Competence
  • Proven ability to be a "change agent"
  • Proven ability to lead execution of multi-site and/or cross-functional continuous improvement projects or initiatives
  • Experience leading/mentoring teams
  • Track Record of delivering on-time to commitments
  • Strong problem solving skills developing preventive/corrective actions
  • Knowledge or experience with regulatory requirements
  • Experience working with FAA/DCMA
