Avionics Systems Engineer –100% (m/w)

Works with the design engineering group and customers to ensure products meet requirements by providing design guidance and conducting verification, validation and certification tests with minimal supervision.
The Avionics Systems Engineer will perform activities such as:
Define system architectures in conformance with iDAL A/B/C as per ARP4754 guidelines
Understand design and/or certification constraints and working effectively with product development teams to complete complex, new, or significant projects
Develop, derive, allocate and manage systems level requirements to low level requirements
Focal Point to manage and solve all system level and integration issues
Prepare and/or review documentation for system design
Perform system evaluation and analysis to verify the system design compliance with functional requirements
Conduct and participate in all aspects of systems integration, test execution, issue resolution, and reviews
Support the certification process for Avionics systems throughout the entire lifecycle of a development program
Lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop technical solutions
Support of various speciality-engineering tasks; such as RAMS, ILS, HW/SW design
Support sales/marketing in identifying potential new products or business opportunities
Support proposal development activities, including proposal text development, cost estimating
Provide technical assistance to production and technical support
Physical, Ergonomic and Environmental Considerations
Primarily works in an office or lab with moderate noise levels
Conditions and no direct exposure to hazardous physical substances
Must be able to remain in a stationary position 80% of the time, frequently operating a computer and other office productivity machinery
Frequently moves about to access file cabinets, office machinery etc.
Occasionally works in laboratory environments to test or screen devices under test
Occasionally operates engineering test equipment such as laptops, signal generators, EMI chambers, thermal chambers, power supplies and USB hubs
Occasionally works with potentially hazardous electrical potentials while observing appropriate safety precautions

Masters or PhD in relevant Engineering discipline
7+ years of relevant experience in the systems design, development of safety critical systems
Experience of certifying to aerospace standards: CS25, CS27, ARP4754, ARP4761, DO160, DO254, DO178C
Knowledge of Systems Engineering best practices, common pitfalls, methodologies, processes and tools
Experience with requirements management tools like DOORS
Demonstrated system engineering skills
Excellent English written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills (German or French is an advantage)
