Job Description

Carbon 60 are pleased to confirm that were currently searching for a Chief Inspector for one of our prestigious clients based in North West of England.

As the Chief inspector you will report to the Divisional Manager, where you will be responsible for the verification of components which complies with the customers supply and relevant specifications conditions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

You will be responsible for carrying out first off and final inspection of detailed parts and assembles, using mechanical / CMM and or electronic measuring equipment. Actioning and completing First Article Inspection reports and be responsible for signing internal purchase orders for treatment processes.

In order to make sure all concessions and non-conformance reports are completed and raised of discrepant parts. Work on the final release of parts to customer including raising & signing certificates of conformity.

As the Chief Inspector you will be responsible for applying the principles of lean manufacturing, 6s and Kanban to their work area and to make sure that you manage the maintaining their own waste.
Update the Departmental cell board by updating it/providing information that is requested on it. You will be required to represent the company at external audits and customer liaisons.

Tasked in reporting all component non-conformances using the appropriate documents and forms to the Senior Inspector or Quality Controller who will cascade to the relevant Team Leader and Supervisor. Tasked in verifying components meet specification and customer requirements using detailed drawings, the customers condition of supply, company procedures and layouts.

Skills/ Knowledge Requirements:

Must have served and engineering apprenticeship with a minimum qualification of HNC/HND in an engineering discipline or equivalent experience.

Professional Accreditations:

Minimum of 3 years experience in a similar position within the aerospace or automotive.
