Job Description

Development Process Engineer

Based: Hampshire

Salary up to £25,000 DOE plus Benefits Package

I am working closely with my leading manufacturing client to recruit a Development Process Engineer to join the on-site Engineering Team at their busy manufacturing plant in Hampshire. This role would suit an early career professional or recent graduate with some industrial experience (i.e. placement year / internship).

This role is being offered with an attractive salary and benefits package within a company with an excellent reputation for developing their staff and facilitating clear career progression opportunities. You will be provided with a Personalised Development Plan, encouraged to continue training towards gaining additional qualifications such as Six Sigma belts, and a mentor.

As part of the on-site process team, you will be working closely with stakeholders throughout the business and have involvement across a diverse portfolio containing a mix of smaller continuous improvement projects (typically up to £100k) and contributing towards large capital projects managed my on-site Project Engineering Team (£500k+). Simultaneously you will also be required to provide route cause analysis and problem solving to suggest solutions to supporting manufacturing and production with any quality-related issues.

Process Improvement work will include the replacement and upgrading of equipment and associated pipework and utilities; integration of increased automation and controls of production processes; and ensuring all work complies with legislation and regulatory requirements. You will also have to ensure that your work complies with company EHS policies and all applicable regulatory standards.

Applications are invited from graduate or early career Process Engineers who have previously worked in process improvement / process safety / process design engineer roles within a manufacturing environment and/or production facility in sectors such as pharmaceuticals, chemicals, agro-chemicals, resins, pigments, packaging, paper, glass, or similar process-driven industries. This role could also suite those who have worked as a Quality Engineer / Manufacturing Engineer

Applicants must hold a minimum degree in chemical engineering / chemistry / materials science or similar subject. Previous experience of using Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) or related methodologies is highly desirable, as is experience of using Minitab software, but this is not essential.

Candidates must be able to proven they understand the principles of delivering process improvement projects through LEAN Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement (CI) techniques, and show a willingness and capability to continue learning on the job.
