JOB PURPOSE:

The role holder will be accountable for inspection of products in line with the Company\'s documented standard processes and quality requirements, including meeting individual and departmental performance targets set by the company such as safety, delivery, quality, productivity.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

TEAM LEADING

  • Lead, motivate and develop the team through the provision of instructions and guidance to ensure departmental/site performance targets are met. This includes primary operational targets such as safety, quality, delivery, and productivity as well as employee engagement.
  • Deputise or lead daily accountability meetings (SQDWPE) for designated department and provide cover where required.
  • Review team performance daily via daily accountability (SQDWPE), efficiency and production meetings in order to identify areas for improvement and encourage progress.
  • Manage team or individual performance in line with company processes and procedures i.e. disciplinary process.
  • Communicate the company vision, mission and values through the SQDWPE process in order to motivate the team and drive accountability.
  • Promote Safety, Health and Environmental awareness at all times
  • Conduct safety and environmental inspections/audits where required.
  • Administration of team annual/sick leave documentation including return to work interviews as well as Tensor administration in line with the attendance policy
  • Support the annual appraisal process through completion of team PDR`s and identification of individual/team training needs.
  • Conduct toolbox talks where required.
  • Generate and implement ideas to continuously improve individual, team and process performance through the deployment of lean manufacturing concepts.
  • Promote the sharing or ideas and \'Best practice\' throughput teams, departments and wider organisation.

OPERATIONAL

  • Achieve departmental KPI\'s (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Productivity etc.).
  • Attend and actively contribute to production meetings when required.
  • Conduct inspection processes in accordance with documented standards.
  • Cover Inspection roles as required at times of holiday, sickness or increased inspection requirements.
  • Ensure accurate completion of production and quality documentation.
  • Support Material Review Board activities and assist in problem investigations using appropriate tools such as 5-why, fishbone and 8D reporting.
  • Work overtime when required.
  • Generate and implement ideas to continuously improve individual, team and process performance through the deployment of lean manufacturing concepts.

GENERAL

  • To perform other such duties as generally correspond to the nature of the position and its level of responsibility.

KEY SUCCESS CRITERIA:

  • Successful development and implementation of the Inspection SQD production system.
  • Continual flow of inspection meeting demands of three manufacturing work streams.
  • Improving trend across Inspection focused (SQD) KPI\'s
  • Coordination of First Off completion to meet Business demand
  • Successful adoption of the Customer Manifest Document and work-to-lists
  • Actions plans will be in place to drive improvement across the Inspection Department
