Job Description

We are a successful Staffordshire-based manufacturer of chemicals and construction materials. Due to continued growth an opportunity has arisen for us to create the new role of Process Development Manager in our in-house Operations Management Team in Tamworth. This is an exciting time to join the business as we are in the early stages of transformation and there is the potential to make a real impact within this well respected company. Reporting into the Operations Director, the successful candidate will be supporting all elements of operational activity including Supply Chain, Production, Compliance, Engineering, Facilities, and Maintenance in order to ensure the business has the required capacity for the growth. As a key member of the Operations Management team, this wide ranging role will support the KPIs of Safety, Quality, Cost and Delivery.

Examples of duties:

  • Managing and improving safety systems for existing and new processes
  • Analysing and continuous improvement of production methods to reduce waste and increase efficiencies.
  • Project Management
  • Safety studies including HAZOPS and liaising with regulatory bodies i.e. HSE

Applications are invited from Process Development Managers, Compliance Managers, Engineering Managers, Operations Managers, as well as Process Development Engineers with significant leadership experiences that are looking to take the next step into management. Those who have previously worked within a heavy manufacturing and/or high volume, process driven environments (i.e. automotive, chemical, FMCG, food, agro-chemical, pharmaceutical, refining, or similar) are desirable but this is not essential.

Candidates must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, and be confident liaising with stakeholders across all levels of the business from technicians up to directors on a daily basis and have the ability to get people on board with new continuous improvement initiatives.

This role will mostly be office-based but may involve both domestic and overseas travel to visit suppliers on occasions, so a driving licence and passport are highly desirable.
