I am working closely with my leading manufacturing client to recruit an experienced Process Engineer to join the on-site Engineering Team at their busy manufacturing plant in Hampshire. Working closely with stakeholders throughout the business, you will have involvement across a diverse portfolio containing a mix of smaller continuous improvement projects you will have full ownership of (typically up to £100-200k) and contributing towards large capital projects managed my on-site Project Engineering Team (£1M+). Simultaneously you will also be required to provide route cause analysis and problem solving and suggest solutions to supporting manufacturing and production with any quality-related issues.

Process Improvement work will include the replacement and upgrading of equipment and associated pipework and utilities; integration of increased automation and controls of production processes; and ensuring all work complies with legislation and regulatory requirements.
You will also have technical accountability for the process safety of projects, complete safety studies (including hazard, protection analysis, safety integrity), and ensure project compliance with company EHS policies and all applicable regulatory standards.
Applications are invited from experienced Process Engineers who have previously worked in process improvement / process safety / process design engineer roles within a manufacturing environment and/or production facility in sectors such as pharmaceuticals, chemicals, agro-chemicals, resins, pigments, packaging, paper, glass, or similar process-driven industries. This role could also suite those who have worked as a Quality Engineer / Manufacturing Engineer
Applicants must hold a minimum degree in chemical engineering / chemistry / materials science or similar and have the ability to development of Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and read Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (PIDs). Previous experience of using Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) or related methodologies is highly desirable, as is experience of using Minitab software or similar.
Candidates must have a proven track record of steering technical teams on successfully delivered process improvement projects through LEAN Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement (CI) techniques, and those with previous brownfield project experience are of particular interest. Previous chemical / material / paper / glass plant experiences considered desirable include any of the following: flammable hazard processes, chemical reactions, fluid mechanics, bulk material handling, mass transfer, heat transfer, filtration, mixing, drying, and effluent treatment.
You will need to have the ability to deal with site-based works on a busy plant - this includes working with sub-contractors, liaising with other members of the projects and engineering teams, and engaging with other stakeholders within the business such as Production, EHS, etc.
