The aerospace production engineer - also called 'production planning engineer' or 'manufacturing engineer' - is responsible for establishing production goals, and for planning ahead the implementation according to required specifications.

Production engineers manage human resources as well as production means, their role may resemble to one of a manager when it comes to supervising more than one team simultaneously.

Aerospace production engineers must have a global vision of the company, and retrospective over the manufacturing process, in order to continuously improve it. Nowadays, production engineers are asked to be versatile (good aerospace knowledge and technical English vocabulary, good financial and management understanding...), they require autonomy, rigour, and teamwork abilities.
