This role is responsible to Head of Programmes for the efficient delivery of multiple support contracts totalling in excess of £10m. The post is based at Yeovil and is very customer focussed and responsible for large amounts of pull through work.

Many of the contracts have a direct effect on ongoing operations and an understanding of the MoD modus operandi is essential as well as TDL domain knowledge specifically in operations.

The role will manage a number of work streams; developing project schedules, budget management, project delivery in a manner consistent with standard business methodologies (eg LCM, CSR\'s etc.). This will include responsibility for defining the overall project approach, risk identification and management, and resource and skills management, all within the agreed parameters of cost, timescales and managing quality in line with the governance framework.

The role will have SSR/CSR accountability to HD TDL, ensuring their delivery to cost, schedule and quality.

The role by nature is complex cutting across multiple stakeholders and functional/business areas to deliver the project

The role will have responsibility for the planning, management, delivery and support for a number of TDL projects.


The scope and scale of this work is likely to increase, therefore flexibility and excellent change management skills are essential. The role will include significant stakeholder engagement with the MOD customer,; therefore strong interpersonal skills are critical.


Key accountabilities:

Full CSR/SSR and delivery accountability for the contract spanning across all phases of the lifecycle
Manage a complex set of stakeholder and customer requirements, ensuring operational availability and reputation are maintained at all times.
Establish a strong and trusted relationship with key customer representatives enabling repeat business and strong pull through
Lead the interface to multiple internal and external customers up to senior levels, managing all key stakeholders effectively
Understand and manage the dependencies and relationships in the TDL environment, cross functionally, cross team and cross stakeholder
Lead and manage the business area responsibly, ensuring all SHE, quality and people management responsibilities are effectively discharged
Ensure effective project management and business processes are effectively applied across the project in line with the BMS

Functional Knowledge:

Essential
*Good working knowledge of MoD and Front Line units
*Good working understanding of the TDL domain and its operational use
*Relevant experience in a project delivery role in supporting MoD customers
*Managed full lifecycle
*Worked in a competitive bidding environment
*Stakeholder management and excellent communication skills
*Product safety and SHE in delivery of the programme
Desirable
*APM or equivalently qualified
*Experience in establishing and launching projects with multiple customers (establish scope, project success criteria, schedules, resource plans, risk and opportunity plans, stakeholder management plans) and managing those plans once established (project management, budget and cost management, risk and opportunity management)
*Skilled in working autonomously and using escalation routes for issues effectively, applying own initiative, problem solving, understanding and utilising the organisation and earning trust (internally and with the customer).
*Experience in influencing, building relationships and developing networks. Successful project delivery will require individual to build relationships across a broad stakeholder group and influence this group through the project complexity
