Job Description

Innovative Aerospace organisation based in Bedfordshire are looking to recruit a Senior Electrical and Avionics Systems / Software Design Engineer on a permanent basis.

The successful candidate will take responsibility and apply System Engineering practice to the development of the various bespoke Electrical and Avionic equipment for the AL-10 vehicle including the Flight Control Network. The successful candidate will develop the interface control documents, Specifications, and system schematics and provide technical management with suppliers to ensure they deliver the products to the system requirements.

You\'ll be responsible for:
*Applying System Engineering practice to the development of the various bespoke Electrical and Avionic equipment.
*Leading the design and supplier management of key elements of the company\'s products.
*Providing technical Liaison with the relevant Certification Authority and ensuring that all applicable EASA design and environmental requirements are met.
*Producing Interface Control Documents, Specifications and System Schematics.
*Providing input and liaise with Programme for Statements of Work.
*Providing Technical Management of Suppliers to ensure the end product meets the input specification.
*Managing Supplier Design Reviews.

You\'ll have:
*A good Aerospace, Aeronautical or general engineering degree or equivalent experience.
*8+ years\' experience in the aerospace industry working on system architecture and managing suppliers, or a product development background within the aerospace environment.
*A good working knowledge and experience of application of classical electrical engineering design methods.
*Exposure to processes across the product lifecycle from concept through to production. This will include high levels of competency in areas such as DO-178 and DO-254 development lifecycles, and aircraft system knowledge.
*A proven understanding of Flight control systems (from architecture to hardware delivery) including Data-bus protocols, FPGA devices etc.
*A good understanding and knowledge of avionics engineering principles gained within the aerospace industry including architecture knowledge. They should have worked across a broad area of design from concept through to detail and then onto limited test / production support.
