Job Description

My client is a market leading specialist vehicle manufacturer. Due to a restructuring of the in-house QHSE Team and continued increase in orders, an opportunity has arisen for them to recruit a Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer / Auditor - initially on a 6 month FTC. This is an exciting time to join the business as they are expanding to meet the sustained increase in projects they are experiencing.

Reporting into the QHSE Manager, the successful candidate will develop relationships with suppliers (current and new) to ensure that products meet customer requirements whilst conforming to all relevant standards and regulations including ISO9001 and ISO14001. You will be responsible for conducting external audits, producing reports on suppliers, and involvement in identifying, selecting and approving of new suppliers.

As the Supplier Quality Engineer you will work closely with the Procurement Team to improve supplier delivery times and quality performance whilst perusing efficiency saving activities throughout the supply chain. This will include offering support to key suppliers.

Applications are invited from Quality Engineers, Auditors, and Technicians who either hold an engineering qualification or have relevant experience. Those who have previously worked within a low volume manufacturing environment (i.e. automotive, aerospace, OEM) are of particular interest, but this not essential. You should have undergone ISO9001 audit training and have experience of conducting internal and/or external audits, preferably as a lead auditor.

This role may involve a small amount of both domestic and overseas travel to visit customers and suppliers for meetings on occasions, so a driving licence and passport are highly desirable. There may be a possibility that this role will be extended and/or converted to permanent in the future. We have previously seen others who have joined on fixed term contracts to be offered other roles within the business after impressing.

More information is available upon application. Please state salary and/or hourly rate requirements on application.

When applying for this role, please indicate your current salary (plus benefits package), minimum salary required, notice period and your reasons for wishing to move from your current company.
