Air Tahiti

The history of aviation in Polynsia begins with the construction of the first airport by the American Army in 1943, Bora Bora. Beginning 1958, passenger transport is provided by the RAI (Interinsular Network). The journey Tahiti - Bora Bora is made by Catalina and Bermuda seaplanes. 1961 marks the opening of the Tahiti-Faa'a airport and with this opening the traffic stop has nothing in Polynie. The newest airline Air Polyn has 6 stopovers in 1970 and 11 in 1972. Air Tahiti was founded in 1986 on the occasion of the sale of Air Polyn sie of the Polynish shareholders by UTA.
