École Nationale d'Ingénieurs de Saint-Etienne/ ENIS

Fifty years ago, on October 1, 1961, professors were hired by the State to develop a training program for field engineers, technologists, and innovators who were able to design, implement and implement optimally Products, systems or services. The model ENI was born, Brest and Saint-Etienne, and then reproduced Tarbes, Metz, Belfort, and more recently Blois. This model has trained more than 25,000 engineers and doctors around the world. The establishments of the ENI group are engineering schools in 5 years, where the concept of an integrated pre paratory class does not exist, because students are immediately aware of technology and innovation, in addition to Disciplines. Their training in concepts and models is gradual, with a constant concern for the concrete, as evidenced by the many industrial periods that characterize this formation.

In Saint-Etienne, ENISE, more than 4000 engineers and doctors have been trained. As part of their professional activities, they participate in the economic development of our country. They mainly operate in France, but they are also found in many countries of the world, on all continents. Very often they manage teams or companies, in the fields of transport, energy, health, but also in the construction of structures and buildings. The two disciplines of ENISE, mechanical engineering and civil engineering, are now widely recognized in the business community, as illustrated by the 350 partnerships we have in France and in more than 18 other country.

Established initially in a technical school, ENISE was set up in the 1970s, under the impetus of its director Victor MARTINO, on an independent site in the rue Jean Parot Saint-Etienne. In the 1990s, with its director Thomas MATHIA, the ENISE developed research activities, and has strong relationships with the Ecole Centrale de Lyon around the Laboratory of Tribology and Dynamics of Systems, LTDS. In the year 2000, with its director Bernard LAGET, ENISE moved to a second site, the St-Etienne technopole, and underwent an important development of its contractual activities. ENISE has also gained the status of EPSCP, which offers it, and which offers the site, interesting development possibilities.

Today, ENISE, a member of the Research and Higher Education University of Lyon, is fully integrated in its region where it offers a wide range of training and an internationally recognized research activity
