The Institute of Sciences and Techniques of the Angers Institute (ISTIA) was founded in 1993. D epartment of the University, then UFR, ISTIA is today a School of Engineers of the " University of Angers authorized by the Commission des Titres d'Ingénieurs to award the diploma of engineer.

At its inception, ISTIA was organized around 3 Master's Degrees in Science & Technology (MST), which were then transformed into an IUP in G nie of Industrial Systems (GSI), on which 7 different DESS were based. These courses then went on to become a License for Technologies and Enterprise and two Masters (Industrial Systems and Projects - Innovative Technologies).
