Japanese Cargo Ship Attached to the International Space Station

Several hours after arriving at the International Space Station on Dec. 13, the Japanese Aerospace Exploration Agencys unpiloted H-II Transfer Vehicle (HTV-6) was bolted into place on the Earth-facing port of the stations Harmony module. Dubbed Kounotori, the Japanese word for white stork, the spacecraft is loaded with more than four tons of supplies and experiments for the space station crew.
