Agency Officials Hail Arrival of New Crew at the International Space Station

Following the docking of the Expedition 40/41 crew at the International Space Station May 29, agency officials took a moment to hail the accomplishment and to look forward to future endeavors in a joint appearance in Baikonur, Kazakhstan. Remarks were offered by William Gerstenmaier, NASA's Associate Administrator for Spaceflight Operations, Oleg Ostapenko, the head of the Russian Federal Space Agency (Roscosmos) and Jean-Jacques Dordain, the Director General of the European Space Agency. They appeared together after the docking of the Soyuz TMA-13M spacecraft to the station with Soyuz Commander Max Suraev of Roscosmos, NASA Flight Engineer Reid Wiseman and European Space Agency Flight Engineer Alexander Gerst aboard.
