Innovation at Airbus: Making airport buildings "stealthy"

The Airbus Group's innovative "stealthy" building panel technology opens up new area for construction near airport runways by significantly reducing interference with safety-critical signals from instrument landing systems (ILS). First applied on Airbus' C65 hangar in Toulouse in its 70-centimetre-wide thick-panel form in 2013, the technology's thin-panel version -- which is 8 centimetres in depth -- also has been validated. The stealthy building panels' development results from a collaborative effort between Airbus and Airbus Group Innovations -- the corporate-level research and technology network of its Airbus Group parent company.
