New partnership to develop zero-emission autonomous vessel

A new exciting partnership has taken the first steps to develop a fully electric, zero emission autonomous vessel for DB Schenker, one of the worlds leading logistics providers, and the furniture giant Ekornes. Together with DB Schenker, Ekornes, Naval Dynamics AS and Massterly we have taken the first steps in an ambitious collective aim to make flexible, smart and emission free seaborn logistic solutions.

Were beginning to see a general shift away from the road transportation of goods, with its considerable carbon footprint, and towards clean, energy-efficient, short-sea freight transportation Geir Håøy, CEO, KONGSBERG says. Given our decades of expertise in creating and perfecting systems for ship operations in every context, we are in a unique position to carry out pioneering work in this project. We look forward to bringing on our know-how and experience in this new partnership with DB Schenker and Ekornes.
