Our pan-European Change for Good charity partnership with UNICEF began in July 2012 and since then has raised over £13 million, helping to protect millions of children around the world from disease and keep them safe during emergencies. We run three major collection campaigns onboard each year, as well as supporting other UNICEF initiatives - in 2019 these included Soccer Aid in the UK in June and World Polio Day on the 24 October.
This year, four easyJet people visited the Kakuma refugee camp in north west Kenya to see UNICEFS work in action. Here, UNICEF and other organisations deliver education and other essential support programmes to refugees from across the region.
Last year we launched our first campaign to support UNICEFs Education in Emergencies programmes, raising £1.3 million pounds over the summer enough to help provide education to 300,000 children. The field trip provided an eye opening opportunity for our champions to see for themselves the impact these funds can have.
Thanks to generosity of our customers and dedication of our crew, we have been able to have a huge impact.
