SWERC (South-Western Europe Regional Contest) 2019-20 was held on January 25-26 2020 at Télécom Paris. The competition selects teams of three students from universities in France, Italy, Israel, Portugal, Spain, and Switzerland to participate at the prestigious International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) world final.
It was organized by faculty from IP Paris. The competition was won by a team from Ecole Polytechnique, followed by teams from Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya and ETH Zürich. These three teams will represent South-Wwestern Europe at the ICPC World Finals, to be held in Moscow this June.
With 98 teams present and over 365 attendees from 51 institutions, the 2019-2020 edition broke participation records. The contestants competed on twelve problems and received one balloon for each solved exercise. The contest was supported by the ICPC Foundation, Silver sponsors Atos, Jane Street and Mazars, bronze sponsors Jumptrading, Région Île-de-France, OCaml Foundation and Schlumberger.
