MTU Aero Engine is Germany's leading engine manufacturer and together with its numerous partners, works to achieve the ambitious climate protection goals of the Paris Climate Conference - climate-neutral or emission-free flying.
Dr. Stefan Weber, Senior Vice President Technology & Engineering Advanced Programs at MTU Aero Engines, talks about MTU's future propulsion technologies: from the further development of the Geared Turbofan or new revolutionary propulsion concepts up to the all-electric "Flying Fuel Cell", as well as the industrialization of sustainable aviation fuels such as power-to-liquids, sun-to-liquids or hydrogen. These concepts must be brought to market well before 2050 in order to achieve the self-imposed target.
