Job Overview

Reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager, under direction from the Senior Quality Technician you will assist in ensuring the efficient running of the quality release department. Take part in daily dispatch meetings, maintain dispatch records and audit logs. Ensure release documentation are correct and meets customer requirements. Inspect components, sub-assemblies and finished assemblies in line with company work instructions / Procedures using standard mechanical measuring equipment.

Key Responsibilities

*Verifying incoming receipt materials and finished product from sub-tiers.
*Inspecting finished product prior to release to customer.
*Performing quality over-check on production parts as required.
*Maintaining KPI data related to release.
*Filing of records in an orderly manner to provide easy recall.
*Preparing customer reports and certificates and raise release order documentation.
*Maintaining customer delegated release inspection logs.
*Co-coordinating dispatch requirements with customer services department and advise the Q.A. Manager / Senior Quality Technician of any problems including resource issues.
*Providing support to other release technicians.
*Monitoring concession and production permits, maintain RCN log.
*Performing mechanical inspection on parts, sub-assemblies and top level assemblies. Using standard measuring equipment, Shadowgraph and CMM.
*Producing and reviewing FAIR\'s to AS9102 Requirements using Visual FAIR software.
*Providing support to other department and Senior Quality Technician\'s

*Metrology skills. Including understanding of shadowgraph and CMM operation. Minimum of 3 years working experience as a mechanical inspector (Aerospace or automotive preferred).
*Numeracy and written skills.
*Ability to read and fully understand engineering drawings.
*Adherence to written instructions and AS9100 requirements.
*Good understanding of AS9102 FAIR requirements.
*A minimum of intermediate ability with Microsoft Word and Excel.
*An HNC or NVQ equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering or Materials Engineering. Five years relevant practical experience in lieu of formal qualifications may be acceptable.
*Knowledge of customer and regulatory requirements would be beneficial. (Training would be provided).
*Quality engineering knowledge.
*Maintenance of 5S standards.
