Novus Aviation Capital has closed a finance lease with Emirates Airline for one A380-800, bearing msn 142. The deal is the third transaction for Tamweel Aviation Finance (TAF), Novus Aviation’s managed financing platform offering turnkey alternative financing solutions to airlines and aircraft leasing companies. TAF is a joint venture between Novus, Airbus and the Development Bank of Japan (DBJ) launched in September 2013.

“We are very pleased with this additional landmark financing transaction with Emirates Airline and also on the repeat deal with senior lenders from the GCC and Asia, two regions we are particularly active in. This is timely as it coincides with the celebration of our 20th anniversary, an important milestone which demonstrates our ongoing commitment to the industry regardless of market shocks and cycles ”, said Hani Kuzbari, Executive Vice President at Novus and member of TAF’s Investment Committee. “Over the years, we have built a robust structure that has generated sustained success over two decades and established strong foundations for future growth”, he added.

Novus Aviation Capital acted as overall structuring agent and provided a mezzanine tranche through TAF affording Emirates a comprehensive financing solution. Senior financing was provided by a consortium of regional and international banks including the Arab Banking Corporation, Samba Financial Group and the Korean Development Bank. Arab Banking Corporation acted as Facility Agent.
