Air France, which has been committed for over 30 years to the inclusion of workers with disabilities, has just signed its 11th three-year agreement with the unions in favour of the employment and job security of employees with disabilities. With this new agreement, Air France and its social partners are clearly reaffirming their commitment to maintaining an ambitious policy for the employment of disabled people despite the current health crisis and economic context.

Patrice TIZON, EVP Human Resources, said: “The subject of disability remains a priority and must continue to be promoted as we have been doing for over 30 years, despite the current unprecedented crisis. We will continue to be fully committed, as we were throughout the last agreement, with more than 80 new disabled employees hired between 2018 and 2020, more than 500 actions to preserve job security and over 20 million euros in revenue generated each year with the Adapted Sector. With this new agreement, the signatory parties have reaffirmed their commitment to promote access to jobs for people with disabilities, to promote diversity within the company, reflecting that of society, and to foster equal opportunities.”

Recent negotiations with the unions led to an agreement that includes significant changes compared with the previous agreement, in particular the adaptation of home workstations to encourage teleworking, support for employees in their professional careers, and the implementation of measures in favour of family carers, particularly employees with disabled children.

Despite the freeze on external recruitment, the signatories of the agreement wished to maintain the commitments in favour of the recruitment of people with disabilities, with a target of 40 new recruits over the three years of the agreement via permanent and fixed-term contracts, work-study contracts, professional training contracts and internships. The company will also continue to support the Adapted Sector as it has done for many years. Raising awareness and combating stereotypes also remains a key aspect of the agreement and various guides will be published to encourage company staff to adopt them.

Air France has close to 1,900 disabled employees, including the Protected and Adapted Sector.
