POTEZ AERONAUTIQUE

POTEZ : DESIGNER AND MANUFACTURER

From detail parts to aerostructure global outsourcing

With a prestigious history which has left its imprint in the French aeronautic industry, Potez Aéronautique is a work package contractor which produces aerostucture components including fuselage sections, doors and empennages. These components are integrated in the final assembly lines of French and international customers for the needs of their civil or defence programmes. With Potez Engineering, set up in 2010, the Group has an offering which enables it to handle projects right from the design phase.

One group, two entities

Potez Aéronautique : from industrialization to assembly

At the Landes site in south-eastern France, the teams at Potez Aéronautique work in halls covering more than 25 000 m2 dedicated to the firm's core trade, i.e. the production of aerostructure assemblies intended for the FALs (Final Assembly Lines) of its customers' civil and defence programmes.

The assembly activities are supported by a production unit for detail parts, with facilities including extensive stretching machinery for skins purposes. Furthermore, a part of the facilities is dedicated to MRO activities to provide customers with Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul services throughout the programme life cycle.

Potez Engineering : design

The Potez Engineering team, based in Blagnac, only a few steps away from the Toulouse airport, pools together the Group's calculation, design, airworthiness and testing skills. By combining these skills with those of Potez Aéronautique in production, the Group caters for the Design and Build segment.

As a partner to Dassault Aviation, in charge of the design, certification and manufacturing of the Falcon 5X passenger door, the Group has demonstrated its ability to design and build a structural component integrating mechanisms with complex kinematics.

Potez Aeronáutica Ibérica : the international expansion

In mid-2016, the Group initiated its international expansion. Potez Aeronáutica Ibérica (PAI) - set up in the immediate vicinity of the airport of Sevilla (Andalusia - Spain) and its "Aéropolis" technology park - has premises totalling 6 000 m2 and state-of-the-art industrial means including an semi-automated riveting centre. This initiative enables the Group to push ahead with its development projects focused on its core trade - the manufacturing of structural assemblies - and to meet market requirements in terms of competitiveness.
