An EC175 training day

Belgian operator Noordzee Helicopters Vlaanderen (NHV) will welcome the EC175 to its family on December 11, becoming the first customer to receive the next-generation medium-sized helicopter.

The operators pilots, who will use the helicopter mainly to perform offshore oil & gas missions, are ready to enter the cockpit, having already completed the four-step EC175 pilot training program that launched last summer at Airbus Helicopters headquarters in Marignane, France.

A video crew from Airbus Helicopters followed NHV chief pilot Marc Simillion on his training journey. Simillion recounts his experience, starting with the theoretical training, flight navigation procedures trainer (FNPT), and Level D full flight simulation. The course culminates in his first real flight.

This EC175 training program has today welcomed 20 pilots from NHV, Heli-Union, and UTair.

At the same time 30 technicians have received EC175 maintenance type-rating training, starting with Russian operator UTair.
