Industrial Robotics Manufacturing Engineer m/f
You will join a team of highly motivated and valuable people : Robotic engineers, Project Managers, Manufacturing Engineers, and Executive Management. The R&T Robotic Engineer understands the state of the art of robotic technologies and is able to fill the technology gap with relevant technologies in research projects and develop research proposals.
We are looking for talented candidates who can reinforce our project team by bringing their experience in their field of expertise as well as making the difference through proven interpersonal and collaboration skills
You will lead projects in semi-autonomous and autonomous robotic system for Aircraft manufacturing, assembly and equipping.
This includes safety certification of collaborative robotic systems by implementing sensoric chains associated with real-time control command hardware and software. Simultaneously, it will be key to develop appropriate testing methods (e.g. Hardware In the Loop) to pass safety certification out of the production station.
As well, this comprises implementing real time/interactive motion coupled to digital representation of robots environments (e.g. Simultaneous Location And Mapping) to maximize autonomy of robotic system and simplify Off Line Programming.
In the next ten years, a large portion of operations in aircraft manufacturing will remain manual, thus development and implementation of dynamic re-scheduling of robot fleet and workers team are decisive to make scalable and sustainable extension of use of robots.
Success of these research streams strongly depends on implementation of both supervised and reinforced machine learning within path planner of robots.
On one hand, the condition of success is to develop special strategic relevant robotic technologies for Airbus. On the other hand, the condition of success is to incrementally implement outcome in production as well as close relationship with production teams and robotic development team.
Your Main Responsibilities
You will be in charge of the following activities:
Lead short and long term (from 1 to 5 years before Enter Into Service) research and development of solutions in the areas of autonomous and sensor/vision-aided robotic systems.
Work closely with robotic development engineering teams to develop systems from concept to production level.
Collaborate with industry partners and top tier academia research institutes
Select components, software and equipment matching robotic strategy requirements based on analysis of specifications, reliability and regulatory requirements.
Develop clear & concise reports that include data analysis, interpretations, and recommendations.
Develop and execute autonomous and sensor/vision-aided robotic systems project plans including technical approach and project management to achieve reliable implementation in production.
Testing and evaluation of complex systems
Programming of Cobots and AGVs (e.g. Universal Robots, MIR, Neobotix) based on ROS for validation of processes and demonstration of project results.
Ensure R&T projects are delivered on quality, time and cost
Train and mentor others on upfront robotic principles, techniques, methods and other functionally related topics.
Outputs expected :
Deliver short and long term enablers of light automation to solve safety certification roadblocks of autonomous robotic systems closely co-located with humans as well as deliver applied and develops logic to conduct fleet of robotic systems and dynamically re-schedule their tasks.
Provide maturing and industrial robustness/performance assessment dossier through test programme results strongly based on readiness and reliability demonstrations.
Design and build functional prototypes and full prototypes with hardware and software architecture compliant with light automation golden rules (Modularity, Openness, Flexibility, Scalability) to enable evolution of in service robotic systems
Write and review project functional documentation of long term robotic project, as well as present to management and internal customer

Required Educational Background and Experience:
Educated to Master degree level (or equivalent) in Robotic / Informatic or a related discipline
At least 5 years experience in Manufacturing Engineering
Good experience in C / C++ / Python
Language : English advanced level, French : negotiation level
