Celebrating the launch of Marella Explorer 2

On the 29th March 2019 our newest ship, Marella Explorer 2, set sail for the first time. To celebrate, nearly 1,000 lucky members of staff from TUIs high street stores and head office were invited to spend a weekend exploring the ship. Starting in Malaga, passengers spent four nights experiencing the bars, West End-style entertainment and All Inclusive dining options onboard, as well as visiting the ports of Cartagena and Valencia on the way.

During the launch party, Marella Cruises Managing Director, Chris Hackney, joined the ships godmothers, Executive Sous Chef Mary Moreno and TUI Airways Cabin Manager Paula Clark onboard for the official naming ceremony. And, after live performances from X Factor winners Rak-Su and Radio 1 DJ Nick Grimshaw, the night ended with an eye-popping firework display.

Marella Explorer 2 is our first ship designed exclusively for adults. Weve lined up a Champneys Spa and ice-cream parlour alongside loads of restaurants and bars one even has its own casino and club. Youll find all your favourite restaurants, like laidback Snack Shack and pan-Asian eatery Kora La, plus a handful of brand-new places to eat and drink, like golfing haven The 19th Hole and the barbecue-inspired Beach Cove.

As with all of our ships, you can expect to be welcomed onboard by the friendliest staff at sea. Were All Inclusive as standard, so your food and drink, flights, transfers, tips and service charges are all included in the price. So, you can relax knowing that everything is taken care of.
