If you've been following ICON Aircraft for the past few years, you know that building the A5 has been an incredible and challenging journey. Moving from prototype to serial production for the light-sport amphibious ICON A5 has been the focus of the company for the better part of the past four years since we built the first pre-production airplane on the line in Vacaville, CA. It is one of the primary reasons why ICON quickly became the #1 Light Sport Aircraft manufacturer in the world.

In part one of our manufacturing series, we went behind the scenes to show where the ICON A5 begins. It was the first time we've highlighted the production process of the A5 and how the many carbon fiber components of the aircraft are made.

In part two, we travel to the ICON corporate headquarters and production facility in Vacaville, CA where the ICON A5 is painted, assembled, and certified safe for flight.

When prospective customers visit, they often remark how impressive, clean, and technologically advanced the facility is for a small airplane manufacturer. For those that cannot come see us in Northern California, we hope this latest video provides some context as to what it takes to build an amphibious, mostly carbon fiber, light-sport aircraft like the A5 on such a large scale.
