EUROCONTROL Stakeholder Forum on the impact of climate change on aviation

Climate change is creating a range of challenges for aviation, posing direct risks to flight operations and underlying infrastructures via more frequent extreme weather events in the air, and raised risk of flooding and rising sea levels on the ground.

In a discussion chaired by EUROCONTROL Head of Aviation Sustainability Marylin Bastin, our expert panel will:
1. share their operational experience of adapting to conditions directly linked to climate change;
2. discuss how these impacts are likely to develop in the years ahead;
3. suggest how aviation stakeholders can build greater climate resilience into their operations.

For this discussion, we have lined up three leading experts who will share their operational experience and recommendations on climate change adaptation with us. Together they will help us understand what aviation is already doing to mitigate climate impacts and what more can be done on a European and global level.
