Air traffic controller strike affects Berlin as well

The strike by European air traffic controllers may begin to affect operations in Berlin as well as other airports this week, causing disruptions and delays. There will be an impact on flights from/to France and other southern European destinations such as Portugal, Spain and the Canary Islands.
Although German air traffic controllers are not taking part in the industrial action, connections to and from Germany may be affected if the routes take the flights over airspace in other countries. Air traffic controllers will also be striking in Cyprus, Italy and Slovenia. Work stoppages of defined periods are planned through Wednesday; the air traffic controller strikes are expected to last almost the entire day on Malta. Protests have been announced in Austria, Hungary, Slovakia, Greece and the Czech Republic for Thursday morning.
