New French airline La Compagnie has opted for the Lido/RouteManual charts and the Lido/iRouteManual and Lido/Enroute iPad apps from Lufthansa Systems. The two companies recently signed an agreement to this effect.
The paper-based Lido/RouteManual chart solution and the corresponding apps for the iPad, Lido/iRouteManual and Lido/Enroute provide La Compagnie with navigation charts for take-off and landing procedures as well as airport and
oute charts that contain all important route information including altitude and airport data. These charts are generated directly from the Lido navigation database, which includes worldwide aeronautical information and topographical data. The Lido/iRouteManual iPad app offers pilots an opportunity to access professional navigation charts for instrument flights (IFR charts) on their iPad. Updated charts will be provided for download every week so that the latest versions are always available for pilot briefings.
Cockpit crews can also determine the level of detail presented by the charts. Furthermore, Lido/Enroute enables La Compagnie to provide its pilots with a worldwide, fully dynamic and interactive enroute chart for all its flights on Apple’s iPad.
Established in October 2013, La Compagnie is based in Le Bourget, France. The new carrier will be offering business class flights only. Operations are expected to commence from Paris to New York in the summer of 2014.
