The ETH has valued diversity as a source of wealth in the heart of school life long before it became a social issue.

Established in 1925, the Ecole Polytechnique Fine was one of the few major schools for many years to train women as engineers and the only one to have graduated as much as 7,000 engineers! Founded as a public utility in 1991, the EPF became mixed in 1994. It no longer delineates its acronym but now counts nearly 40% of students compared with 17% on average in other engineering schools Ners.
