Description of the job :
You will integrate the Structures Design Engineering Department (ESE), contributing to all structural activities related to Type Design/Type Certificate changes from the technical evaluation of the request/need up to the certification of the change.
ESE is in charge of leading design developments (through PDR, CDR) in liaison with other ATR Engineering Departments and Partners Design Offices (Leonardo/Stelia/Airbus), advising and supporting the understanding of applicable regulations and Means of Compliance and their constraints and contributing to design reviews.
ESE also contributes to the continued airworthiness process carrying out preliminary investigations on structures-related in service events affecting the safety of the operations and is involved in the aircraft structures quality improvement process by analyzing defect reports, defining or proposing solutions, in order to obtain better product reliability and lower maintenance cost. Support to production activities is also part of the mission of ESE.
As liaison engineer, in agreement with the Toulouse Stress and Design Office, you will act as focal point for all structures activities conducted by our supplier Leonardo in Italy, for both design and stress activities, related to product improvement and project developments. You will also be the focal point for Leonardo production support activity, through concessions analysis and validation.

Task & accountabilities :
After a training period in ATR headquarters, the jobholder will act:
• As a focal point for all Stress and Design activities: the position is aimed at following all the ongoing tasks and projects under Leonardo perimeter. In agreement with the Toulouse Stress and Design Office, he/she will coordinate and plan on site all the ongoing activities with the partner. He/She will report hierarchically and functionally directly to the ATR Toulouse Structures Engineering Directorate.
• As a Structures engineer to conduct duties in the perimeter of structures design engineering and production support activities. In this latter role, in agreement with the Toulouse Stress and Design Office, he/she will supervise the activities of ATR structures engineering subcontractors located in Leonardo facilities.

Required profile


Required skills :
The candidate will have a Master's Degree (BAC+5) in Aerospace/Mechanical Engineering and 10 years of professional experience.
Good knowledge of aircraft structures (design and stress), aircraft architecture and design developments.
Good knowledge of airframe materials, processes, technologies and relevant documentation.
Solid understanding of standard drafting practices.
Ability to verify the compliance of a detailed design solution toward baseline of validated requirements.
Knowledge of regulation and certification requirements (JAR25/CS25 JAR21/PART21).
Expertise on damage investigation on aircraft structures.

This position requires a working location in Italy (Napoli), and as such, the applicant must be available for working abroad. In addition, regular travels to ATR headquarter in Toulouse will be required.

Highly proficient in spoken and written Italian and English. French would be a plus.
