As the Senior PMO Manager your skills and qualifications will ideally include:
  • Strong knowledge of project management processes, tools, performance measurement and metrics.
  • MS Project Expert- able to mentor PM\'s.
  • Resource Management.
  • Risk Management.
  • Ideal candidate will have a background in Electronic, Defence or Manufacturing.
  • Scenario Planning.
  • Experience developing, implementing and deploying and running Portfolio, Programme and Project Management processes.
  • Highly numerate and analytical.
  • Experience reporting and tracking Metrics and Financial Data for Projects.
  • Expert user of software tools including Microsoft Project and Excel.
  • Knowledge of budget development.
  • Understanding of Configuration Management.
  • Preferably degree educated (or equivalent relevant experience) with experience of working in project teams.
  • Ideally achieved APMP/PMP accreditation or equivalent qualification.
  • Ideally experience running projects/ programmes of moderate complexity. Key measures and milestones
  • Completion of project reports and analysis accurately, on time and within cost to the required quality parameters to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Generation and delivery of all required project metrics/reports to the Cobham standards and in a timely fashion.
  • Significant contribution towards the continuous improvement of tools, processes and procedures within the function.
  • Provision of consulting services in areas of specialism.
As the Senior PMO Manager your main responsibilities will involve:
  • Maintaining and assisting in the development and approval of budgets for new projects & programmes
  • Maintain information concerning cost, time, OTD, Risk and Resource through the prevailing logs and registers, planning and implementing responses to any variances identified. This is likely to be on programmes of the highest complexity & strategic importance
  • Identify and monitor performance against schedules, advising key stakeholders on any variance to forecast and providing recommended solutions, to ensure contractual objectives are met
  • Drive the development, implementation and update of resource plans needed for highly complex & strategically important projects & programmes, taking account of availabilities and scheduling
  • Lead and facilitate Project Meetings and Risk Reviews when required
  • Support and help track Rolling Action Item logs (RAILs) & Risk Management Logs
  • Tracking, updating and reporting progress and/or variance on all aspects of the programmes to include financials (EAC), project plans (IMS), work breakdown structures (WBS) project risk registers and life cycle management (LCM) adherence with project
  • Analyse project data to produce Business Unit Portfolio reports for monthly reporting cycles
  • Drive monthly review of Project financials with the project manager & project accountant
  • Provide support for assigned projects and work packages as and when required
  • Support the identification and evaluation of the business benefits of programmes (as well as projects within them), facilitating reviews where required
  • May review and analyse data to project costs, forecast workloads, identify and pursue additional business opportunities
  • Undertakes Health Checks for projects/ programmes of moderate complexity
  • Lead process improvement and cost reduction efforts to promote rapid continuous improvement
  • Supports projects/programmes throughout Gate and Milestone Reviews
  • Participates in the logistics of developing plans including budgets and schedules to meet contractual/project requirements
  • Assists in establishing and defining programme plan requirements
