An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Transport Manager for a food distribution business.
To ensure that the Transport team meet and exceed the budgeted KPI\'s in terms of costs and legal requirements. Working with all the depot and company departments to ensure that we deliver high levels of engagement and customer service by managing efficient route planning, attendance, and effective training for all drivers.

As the Transport Manager you will be responsible for:
Ensure costs are kept within the agreed budgets.
Ensure Company assets, people, stock, cages, pallets etc are controlled and accounted for at all times.
Ensure compliance of Food Safety, Health and Safety regulations, and Company procedures at all times.
To ensure that Safe Systems of Work and risk assessments are carried out as and when required.
Manage and ensure the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene within the fleet.
Remedial action plans for areas which have been identified through audits, reviews or observations that require attention.
To effectively manage all subordinates within the Transport department to ensure they are trained and have the skill set and knowledge required to carry out their jobs.
To consistently drive improvements standards within the department to deliver customer satisfaction expectation.
Ensure all shifts are covered and completed in a high standard.
To be successful in the role of Transport Manager you will have the following skills and experience:
Experience of a fast moving distribution environment.
Effective planning, communication and IT skills.
Experience of route planning.
Experience of working effectively within a team to provide good customer service.
Experience of effective people management.
Experience of managing a multi-drop Transport department
Food background, CPC and HGV licence are desirable but not essential.
