Aviation Week to Honor Outstanding Achievements in Aviation, Aerospace & Defense at 56th Annual Laureate Awards

NEW YORK, Feb. 20, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Aviation Week (http://www.aviationweek.com) will hold their 56th Annual Laureate Awards on March 7 in Washington, D.C., celebrating the extraordinary achievements by individuals and teams in the aviation, aerospace and defense communities.

The black-tie event will honor winners in categories including Aeronautics/Propulsion, Business/General Aviation, Commercial Air Transport, Defense, IT/Electronics, MRO, Space and Workforce for their accomplishments in 2012. Recipients of the Philip J. Klass Award for Lifetime Achievement and the Aviation Week Heroism Award will also be announced.

The evening also marks the presentation of the Tomorrow's Leaders Awards, sponsored by BAE Systems. The awards honor young men and women who have chosen career paths in the armed forces. This year's honorees include Zachary Howard Adams, Cadet First Class, US Air Force Academy; Matthew George Gallup, Cadet Lieutenant, United States Military Academy; Erik William Oredson, Cadet First Class, United States Coast Guard Academy; and Benjamin Lee Putbrese, Midshipman First Class, United States Naval Academy. All cadets will receive gifts presented by Michelle Lamberton, Vice President, Internal Audit, BAE Systems.
