UTC Aerospace Systems Displays Prototype Executive Seat at NBAA 2013

CHARLOTTE, N.C., Oct. 22, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- UTC Aerospace Systems (UTAS) will display its prototype executive jet seat which will feature the latest in style, comfort and technology, including integrated wireless-control systems. The seat will be unveiled in the UTC Aerospace Systems booth (C6922) at the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) convention in Las Vegas, Nev., on Oct. 22. UTC Aerospace Systems is a unit of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX).

The most recent addition to the UTAS VIP seating platform has many state-of-the-art options and features. The seat brings together technologies from several business units and was developed at the United Technologies Research Center (UTRC). UTRC is the central technology development and innovation center for United Technologies Corporation (UTC), where enabling world-class technologies are developed for a wide range of next-generation UTC products.

The latest innovations created for the VIP seat include a patented environmental control system with heating and cooling; an extensible electronic control system for motorized seat function, including electric recline, leg rest, head rest, lumbar, tracking and swiveling release, floor tracking lock and release. Additionally, the new wireless seat control system can be controlled with any iPad®, iPod® or smart device. There is also a patented wireless charging system for the seat occupant's iPhone®, iPod® or smart device. The new executive seat is designed with the occupant's comfort and technological requirements in mind.
